Our team offers exceptional governance training that meets TEA requirements and helps your board have a solid grasp of their oversight responsibilities,
- Training consists of the TEA-required six-hour (360 minute) update for current board members covering essential topics in charter law including :
- Duties and Responsibilities of Board Members
- Financial Accountability
- Open Meetings
- Academic Accountability
- Health and Safety
- Additional subjects that include Personnel Issues, Social Media, Parental Rights, Superintendent Evaluation, and other topics that can be customized to meet the needs of the charter.
- Training options are also available for new board members to meet their initial 12-hour training requirement.
- Training is led by Dr. Bruce Marchand, who developed numerous board training resources while serving at TEA.
- Training can be conducted in-person or via Zoom, with the Zoom option allowing for a series of two or three hour session configurations.
- Training is extremely informative, timely, practical, and engaging.
- All participants will receive a certificate of completion and PDFs of training materials. Superintendents will also receive follow-up information as needed to implement any policy or procedural changes that arise from the training.
