Nadia T. Sangster, Esq.

Nadia T. Sangster has an extensive background in drafting, revising and reviewing a wide range of contracts as well as specialty handling transactional and litigation matters related to construction, procurement, development and general corporate matters. She also has experience with the various types of construction contracts, such as AIA, Consensus, NEC, fixed cost, design-build, cost plus and time and material contracts.

Ms. Sangster’s work in the public sector as a Construction Attorney focused on resolving and litigating claims arising out of capital improvement projects. Ms. Sangster negotiated and drafted construction, facility renovation, engineering, and architectural services contracts for the various departments (i.e., Capital Projects, Water Services, Parks and Recreations, and General Services and Aviation Departments.). Ms. Sangster’s experience further included several public-private partnership deals, including the redevelopment and construction of Kansas City’s Power & Light District.

In the private sector, Ms. Sangster routinely negotiates, drafts and reviews commercial, planning and programming consultant agreements, architectural/engineering/construction management agreements, proposal/bid documents, major equipment procurement contracts, federal procurement contracts and construction contracts for clients. Ms. Sangster successfully negotiated the terms of multimillion-dollar projects and resolved the disputes in her client’s favor against the prime contractor and the sub-subcontractor. Her experiences also include reviewing federal IT procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with FAR. She regularly provides advice on corporate compliance for multiple limited liability companies, provide regulatory as well as commercial/transactional assistance to these entities.

Ms. Sangster worked as a procurement legal advisor for an ivy league university responsible for negotiating all vendor contracts, including drafting, negotiating and finalizing construction contracts. Further, Ms. Sangster has extensive experience in overseeing, managing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts for private and public schools, including pre-K to higher institutions of learning. Her work in this sphere have led to millions of dollars for starting pre-K and after-school programs as well as reducing spending costs through negotiations for an Ivy League university.
